WHAT IS MCTIMONEY CHIROPRACTIC?
A brief summary
Chiropractic care is often associated with backs and back pain, but actually as chiropractors we train to understand the functionality of the whole nervous system. By applying this understanding alongside taking a thorough medical history and performing a detailed examination and testing, a chiropractor can select appropriate adjustments for a wide range of problems including:
Back, neck and shoulder pain
Pain, discomfort and stiffness in joints
The McTimoney approach to chiropractic was developed by the late John McTimoney over 50 years ago and is taught only at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon, near Oxford. It is well known for being a precise, whole body approach to chiropractic care.
The gentle nature of chiropractic the McTimoney way makes it suitable for people throughout their lifetime from babyhood to those in later life.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
McTimoney Chiropractic is a straightforward method of adjusting the bones of your body to help maintain the correct alignment of your spine.
The key to the success of these adjustment is the speed, accuracy and dexterity with which they are performed.
Through these subtle adjustments, chiropractic can help relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility and provide a better route to health.

Finding my way..
I have always been interested in understanding the amazing complexity of the human body and am still in awe daily of what it can do and continually does without us even noticing.
My first experience of chiropractic was in 2008 when I took my very unsettled 4 month old baby to see a McTimoney chiropractor. After the first adjustment, the difference was profound...for the first time since she was born she just fell asleep in my arms..no endless rocking or swaddling required. From that day onward, as a family we have all benefited from regular treatment. In 2014, I took the almighty leap and began my studies in a Masters of Chiropractic at the McTimoney College in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, whilst continuing my day job as a teacher at Simon Balle School. It has been a challenging 5 years, but I am proud to be able to state I am now a Doctor of Chiropractic!
So here begins my new chapter as owner and lead chiropractor for Walk Tall Chiropractic....
